Prominence II: Hasturian Era isn't just another modpack with a quest book bolted on. It's a full RPG built inside Minecraft — voiced NPCs, two original story campaigns, a talent tree with fates and ascendancies, custom gear with endgame boss fights, and a capital city that evolves as you progress. Think Skyrim meets Minecraft, except the modpack actually pulls it off.
With over 12 million downloads and 644 mods running on Minecraft 1.20.1 Fabric, it's one of the biggest RPG modpacks ever made. We run a Prominence II server here on Apollo Network — but you'll need the pack installed client-side first. Here's how.
Prominence II ships with built-in performance optimizations, but it's still a massive pack. If you're getting stutters, lower your render distance before anything else.
ATLauncher is what we recommend — it's open-source, lightweight, and stays out of your way.
Step 1: Download ATLauncher
Grab it from atlauncher.com for your OS. Install it and log in with your Minecraft account under the Accounts tab.
Step 2: Find Prominence II
Click the Packs tab on the right side, then select CurseForge at the top. Search "Prominence II" — look for Prominence II: Hasturian Era. There are older versions of the pack floating around, so make sure you're grabbing the Hasturian Era edition.
Step 3: Install the pack
Click New Instance on the listing. ATLauncher downloads Fabric 1.20.1 and all 644 mods automatically. If any mods have restricted distribution, the launcher opens download links for you — save them to your Downloads folder and ATLauncher picks them up.
Step 4: Allocate more RAM
644 mods need room to breathe. Don't skip this:
Going above 8GB usually doesn't help and can actually hurt — Java's garbage collector gets less efficient with too much memory allocated.
Step 5: Launch and wait
Head to the Instances tab, find Prominence II, and hit Play. First launch takes a while with 644 mods registering. The loading bar might look stuck — it's not. Let it finish.
The story campaigns are great solo, but Prominence II really opens up in multiplayer. The pack has built-in mob scaling for parties, so dungeons and bosses get harder (and more rewarding) with more players. Trading loot, building in the same world, and tackling Mythic Challenges as a group is a completely different experience.
Our Prominence II server comes with custom server-side content, QoL improvements, mod patches, fixes, and performance optimizations — plus a solid community. Just add prom2.apollonetwork.org to your server list and connect. Check the Apollo Store for ranks and cosmetics too.
ATLauncher is what we recommend, but these all work fine.
Step 1: Download the CurseForge app
Head to curseforge.com and grab the desktop app. Install it and sign in.
Step 2: Find the pack
Open CurseForge, select Minecraft, click "Browse Modpacks," and search "Prominence II." Look for the Hasturian Era version.
Step 3: Install
Click Install. CurseForge handles Fabric and all 644 mods. It's a big download, so give it a few minutes.
Step 4: Allocate more RAM
Click the three dots on the profile, open "Profile Options," uncheck "Use System Memory Settings," and drag the slider to at least 6144 MB (6GB). 8GB is the sweet spot if your system can handle it.
Step 5: Launch
Hit Play. First load takes a few minutes — don't close it.
Prism Launcher handles Fabric packs natively. Create a new instance, search for Prominence II: Hasturian Era in the CurseForge tab, and download it. Set Java to version 17 and RAM to 6-8GB in instance settings.
This one's a bit more involved since Prominence II runs on Fabric instead of Forge, but it's doable.
Win+R, type %appdata%\.minecraft, and hit Enter.prominence-2 and extract the zip contents into it.-Xmx2G to -Xmx6G.Prominence II plays differently from minute one. You're not just surviving — you're building a character in a world with actual story.
The pack updates frequently — v4.1.0 dropped in September 2026 — so expect new content and polish regularly.
